For any request concerning the protection of personal data, you may contact the controller at the email address shown above.

2. Personal data we may process

Depending on how the website is used, the following categories of personal data may be processed.

Browsing and technical data
The IT systems and software procedures that enable the website to operate may, during their normal operation, acquire technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, date and time of the request, pages visited, information about errors or security events, and other technical data necessary for transmitting communications over the Internet and correctly delivering the website.

Data provided voluntarily by the user
When a user contacts BVW by email, phone, WhatsApp or any forms available on the website, data such as first and last name, email address, telephone number and the information contained in the request may be processed.

If the user voluntarily provides additional information, it will be processed only to the extent necessary to handle the request and the relationship with the data subject.

Data relating to requests about courses, courts, tournaments, events, partnerships and projects
When a request concerns BVW activities, the information necessary to provide answers, check availability, arrange contact or prepare the preliminary steps requested by the user may be processed.

Any subsequent membership of the association, sports registration, ongoing participation in courses or other activities may involve further processing governed, where necessary, by specific notices provided to the data subject or the person exercising parental responsibility.

3. Purposes and legal bases for processing

Personal data may be processed for the following purposes.

Website operation, security and maintenance
To ensure the proper functioning of web services, prevent abuse, detect anomalies, protect the website and ensure the technical security of systems.
Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in website security and proper management pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, as well as performance of the technical measures necessary to provide the service requested.

Responding to requests and communications
To handle requests relating to courses, trials, bookings, events, projects, collaborations, partnerships or other information requested by the user.
Legal basis: performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject or handling the user's request, pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Managing relationships arising from a user's request
Where contact leads to an associative, sporting, contractual or administrative relationship, data may be processed for the steps necessary to manage that relationship.
Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.

Legal obligations and protection of rights
To comply with obligations imposed by law, regulations or requests from competent authorities, and to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Legal basis: legal obligation and, where applicable, the controller's legitimate interest.

Statistics and non-essential measurement tools
Any analytics or tracking tools that require consent are activated only after the user has expressly chosen through the cookie-management system.
Legal basis: consent of the data subject pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, where required by applicable law.

4. Cookies and other tracking technologies

The website uses technical cookies and, where applicable, other tracking technologies in accordance with the preferences expressed by the user.

Cookies and tools that are not strictly necessary are managed through a consent collection and management system. Users can accept, reject or change their preferences at any time using the dedicated control available on the website.

For detailed information about the cookies used, their purposes, duration and the services involved, please see the Cookie Policy available in the website footer.

5. Contact via WhatsApp

The website may contain links that allow users to start a conversation with BVW through WhatsApp.

When a user voluntarily chooses to use WhatsApp, communication takes place through a service provided by third parties and may involve processing of data by the relevant provider in accordance with its own terms and privacy notices.

BVW processes the content of the message and the contact details received solely to manage the communication, respond to the request and carry out any activities requested by the data subject.

6. Data relating to minors

BVW also provides sporting activities for children and teenagers, but the website is not designed to collect personal data directly and independently from children without the involvement of a person exercising parental responsibility.

For requests, registrations or activities concerning a minor, BVW may require contact and any related steps to be handled by a parent, guardian or other authorized person.

Information relating to minors is processed exclusively for purposes connected with the request or sporting activity and, where necessary, on the basis of specific notices and consents.

7. Recipients of data and service providers

Data may be processed by BVW staff and authorized collaborators within the limits of their respective duties.

Data may also be disclosed or made accessible to providers that supply services necessary for the operation of the website or management of communications, including, by way of example:

  • hosting, infrastructure and technical-maintenance providers;
  • IT and security service providers;
  • communication service providers;
  • analytics or measurement-service providers, when activated in accordance with the user's preferences;
  • professionals or consultants where necessary for administrative or legal obligations or to protect rights;
  • public authorities where required by law.

Where required by law, providers that process data on behalf of BVW are appointed as processors pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.

Personal data is not sold.

8. Transfers of data outside the European Economic Area

Some online service providers may belong to international groups or use infrastructure located outside the European Economic Area.

Where processing involves an international transfer of personal data, BVW relies on the mechanisms provided for by Chapter V of the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or other instruments recognized by applicable law, as provided for by the service used.

9. Retention period

Personal data is retained for the time necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected.

In particular:

  • technical and security data is retained for the period necessary to manage, protect and verify the operation of the website, except where longer retention is required to investigate unlawful conduct or incidents;
  • data received through contact requests is retained for the time needed to handle the request and any subsequent contacts, and is then deleted or archived when no longer necessary;
  • where a request leads to an associative, sporting, contractual or administrative relationship, the necessary data may be retained for the periods required by applicable law and for the protection of the controller's rights;
  • data processed on the basis of consent is retained until consent is withdrawn or the purpose ceases to apply, subject to legal obligations or other applicable legal bases.

10. Nature of providing data

Providing data by email, telephone, WhatsApp or any forms is voluntary.

However, failure to provide the data necessary to identify the request or contact the user again may make it impossible to provide a response or the requested service.

11. Rights of the data subject

In the cases provided for by the GDPR, the data subject may exercise the rights recognized by Articles 15–22 of the Regulation, including the right to:

  • obtain confirmation as to whether personal data concerning them exists and access it;
  • request rectification of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data;
  • request deletion of data in the cases provided by law;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing where the relevant conditions apply;
  • receive data in a structured format and transmit it to another controller where the right to data portability applies;
  • withdraw any consent given at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, you can write to [email protected].

BVW may request the information strictly necessary to verify the identity of the requester before acting on the request.

12. Complaint to the Supervisory Authority

A data subject who believes that their personal data is being processed in breach of the law may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority or contact the competent supervisory authority as provided for by the GDPR.

13. Automated decision-making

The website does not use solely automated decision-making processes, including profiling, intended to produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on the data subject.

14. Data security

BVW adopts technical and organizational measures proportionate to the nature of the data processed and the associated risks, with the aim of protecting information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure or unlawful use.

15. External websites and services

The website may contain links to websites, social networks or services operated by third parties.

When a user follows an external link, any processing carried out by the destination service is governed by that provider's privacy notice. BVW does not control the processing practices adopted by independent external websites.
