Train to compete. At any age.
From a first tournament to youth circuits, from amateur competitions to Open and Master events, BVW supports athletes who want to embrace the competitive side of beach volleyball, with goals and programs suited to their individual journey.

There is no right age to test yourself
In beach volleyball, competition spans different ages, levels and goals. For a young athlete, it may mean a first experience in youth circuits; for an adult, entering an amateur or Open tournament; for a Master athlete, continuing to train and compete in events dedicated to their category.
The meaning of competition also varies from person to person: for some it is a learning experience, for others a motivation to improve, and for others still it becomes the focus of a more structured competitive program.
Your level does not determine whether you can compete. Your goal determines how you should prepare.
JUNIOR
Regional and national youth circuits, with a progressive introduction to competition.
OPEN & AMATEUR
Tournaments and circuits at different levels for adults who want to test themselves in competition.
MASTER
Training and competition can continue over time, including in categories dedicated to more experienced athletes.
Competition is prepared before you step onto the court
Competing requires more than technical execution. It means reading your opponent, building a strategy with your partner, adapting to conditions, managing difficult moments and maintaining quality of play under pressure.
In BVW's competitive program, technique, tactics, physical conditioning and match situations are integrated into a plan built around the athlete's competitive schedule as well.
TECHNIQUE UNDER PRESSURE
Make core skills reliable even as pace, fatigue and competitive pressure increase.
PAIR TACTICS
Study systems of play, distribution of responsibilities, serving strategy, block-defense systems and adaptation to the opponent.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING
Sand-specific work planned around the athlete's needs and competitive calendar.
MATCH PLAY & ANALYSIS
Real match situations, decision reading and analysis of what happens on court, turning competition into a tool for growth.
Prepare to make decisions. In competition, the pair must constantly find solutions. Competitive training should therefore develop athletes who can not only execute, but also observe, choose, communicate and adapt independently.
Every athlete is different. Every pair even more so.
In competitive beach volleyball, the pathway cannot stop at the group's general level. Physical characteristics, technical strengths, style of play, role within the pair and competitive goals make every athlete unique.
When the athlete's pathway and goals require it, BVW training can also focus on the specific needs of the individual athlete and the pair: strengths to develop, areas to improve, organization of play and preparation for competition.
ATHLETE
Technique, physical condition, individual characteristics and personal goals.
PAIR
Complementarity, communication, block-defense systems, side-out, break phase and tactical organization.
CALENDAR
Planning training in relation to competitions and the different periods of the season.
In 2vs2, two good players are not enough. You need to build a good pair.
Every match leaves something to work on
Competition is not only the moment when you test the work you have done. It is also one of the most effective tools for understanding what to train next.
Matches bring out situations that are difficult to reproduce fully in training: pressure, adapting to the opponent, managing mistakes, communication within the pair, tactical decisions and the ability to stay clear-headed in decisive moments.
Analyzing what happens in a match turns competitive experience into new training goals, creating a continuous cycle of training, competition, analysis and growth.
From your first tournament to national circuits
Training to compete also means choosing the competitive pathway that best fits your age, level and goals.
BVW athletes can compete in FIPAV and AIBVC circuits, taking part in both individual competitions and formats dedicated to clubs.
FIPAV
Individual tournaments and championships, youth competitions and club events, from local and regional circuits through to national competitions.
AIBVC
Individual tournaments and inter-club competitions, including the Club Series, with opportunities to compete within a circuit dedicated to beach volleyball.
There is no single way to be a competitive athlete. The competition calendar is chosen according to age, level, goals and the opportunities best suited to each athlete's pathway.
What is your next goal?
